Kyle & Jackie O Continue to Rise

  • #1 FM Breakfast with Kyle & Jackie O – significant rise to 10.6 and gaining 33,000 listeners
  • #1 FM in Sydney, 2Day FM stronghold for over five years – increase to 991,000 listeners and 9.5 overall share
  • #1 FM Drive, jump to 11.3 points – Fifi & Jules plus Hamish & Andy clear leaders

2Day FM continues to lead the way in Sydney radio with ACRA Best On-Air Team winners Kyle & Jackie O continuing to attract listeners and the station firmly grasping number one overall and as the clear number one choice for under 40’s in Nielsen’s 7th radio ratings for 2011.

The drive shift with Fifi & Jules plus Hamish & Andy is the first choice for Sydney as is Hot30 Countdown at nights with Matty Acton and Maude Garret, so it’s no wonder the station has been number one for over five years.  With just one survey result remaining for the year 2Day FM is poised to finish as the unbeatable force in Sydney radio.

Southern Cross Austereo Sydney General Manager, Adam Lang said: “2Day FM has had an incredibly successful result, continuing to gain significant listeners and audience share in Sydney, and is the clear leader for all people 10+ under 40’s.  Led by another fantastic win from Kyle & Jackie O who continue their dominance in breakfast, held across the day and brought home by Fifi & Jules with Hamish & Andy and Hot30 Countdown.

“The station saw a huge amount of recognition at the ACRAs including Kyle & Jackie O taking out the top award, Hamish & Andy for Best Station Promotion and Jules Lund as Best Newcomer. Off the air Derek Bargwanna claimed best Content Director, Gemma O’Neill as Best Producer and Alex Abela as Best Music Director.

“Teamed with events such as the Jason Derulo Rooftop for Sol, leading celebrity content, the premium playlist and a dedicated team across the station, we are very gratified with this survey result.  We look forward to closing 2011 in great shape and coming back even stronger in 2012.”
