Southern Cross Austereo has officially merged its sales teams into a unified force now known simply as Southern Cross Austereo – Sales, forming the largest metropolitan and regional radio plus regional television sales group in Australia.
Now a team of 250 people strong, the move sees Austereo National Sales and Regional Mediaworks units converge to become a combined operation across five capital cities, offering advertisers a unique level of service.
Southern Cross Austereo – Sales is headed by Group National Sales Director, Jeremy Simpson, and sees one of the country’s most diverse media brands deliver a unified offer of media buying with a portfolio of assets across metro and regional radio, regional TV and digital and the ability to reach 95% of Australians.
The new sales unit is unified, simplified and streamlined, allowing Southern Cross Austereo to provide better value and greater impact for clients, giving the business even more propensity to deliver on its First In Entertainment Media Solutions philosophy.

Southern Cross Austereo engages approximately five million Australians in metropolitan areas each week and regionally has a potential audience of 8.34 million – close to 40% of all Australians.
The radio division represents a total of 140 stations across 68 markets nationally. 79 of these stations are wholly owned by Southern Cross Austereo, and 2 are joint ventures. The remaining 59 stations are independently owned groups of stations which Southern Cross Austereo represent.
The TV division looks after 19 regional free to air television licenses which cover 30 regional sub markets across the country.
The digital division is responsible for online advertising and integration across 85 websites nationally alongside the development of microsites, mobile apps, online video and social media campaigns for clients.
The overall business expertise in content creation, integrated multi-platform campaigns, strategy, research and experiential events allow Southern Cross Austereo – Sales to offer advertisers compelling entertainment media solutions.
