Abby joins B105′s Labby & Stav for Breakfast

Brisbane has already welcomed Adelaide-born Abby Coleman with open arms – she loves the city, the weather, the early sunrises, the festivals and the buzz. This is a good thing as today Southern Cross Austereo Brisbane General Manager Richard Barker confirmed the talented gal, who started as a Street Team volunteer with SAFM and worked her way to being one of Australia’s hottest radio talents, would be joining B105’s Labby & Stav for breakfast – permanently.

Abby has been on-air with Labby, her long-time friend, and Stav for just over two weeks, and is now house-hunting in Brisbane, looking for a place where she and her builder hubby Scott can call home.

Richard Barker said Abby joining the B105 family was incredibly exciting for everyone. “Abby Coleman is quite simply one of the most talented, delightful and committed people you will ever meet. She instantly connects with people and has warmth that draws you to her,” he said. “She is a breath of fresh air and it’s a privilege to welcome her as a shining example of where loyalty and commitment combined with talent can get you.”

For Abby, the role is a dream come true.

A talented actress and performer, her radio career began in 2000 when she joined the Street Team at SAFM in Adelaide. Her career success is born of hard work and loyalty, and fantastic talent.

Long ago, her talents were spotted when she was out shopping with her mother in Adelaide at the age of four! After starring in commercials, she went on to appear as the Wheel of Fortune child model for Channel 7. In 2000 she was the runner-up in the hit reality show The Mole. From here, she wanted in with radio!

In Adelaide with the Austereo group, she was soon writing and performing the Rumour File for the Triple M breakfast crew and the ABC TV’s national children’s show Couch Potato. She was accepted to the Actors Centre Australia in Sydney, which led her to perform lead roles in The Importance of Being Earnest, A Streetcar Named Desire and Macbeth, along with numerous commercials.

Until just over two weeks ago, she was the host of SAFM’s afternoon show and also co-hosted the Hot30 when needed, as well as stepping in for breakfast at a moment’s notice. Now she calls Brisbane home and will join Labby & Stav every morning to wake the city up with news, entertainment, hot hits and more.

She met her co-host Labby 10 years ago, when she was the Street Team member allocated to collect him from the airport for a Hot30 visit. It was the beginning of a great friendship – and their chemistry is evident now on-air.

“An offer to move to Queensland is a no brainer of a decision. My husband and I love the state and getting to hang out each day with two of the funniest and nicest guys, Stav and Labby is a dream job,” she said.

Did we mention Abby is about to have her first baby? Due on Christmas Day, she has a selection of beautiful reindeer names currently under consideration.

Wake up with Labby, Stav & Abby 6am to 9am week days on B105.
