This morning, Fox FM’s Matt & Jo Show announced they are the only breakfast radio show in Melbourne to be heading over to London to cover one of the biggest events of the year, Kate & Will’s Royal Wedding.
The Matt & Jo show will spend a week in London and can be heard live from the UK on Wednesday 27 April, Thursday 28 April and the wedding day, Friday 29 April.
The breakfast radio duo are celebrating the Royal Wedding trip as their first ever trip overseas together, as a show.
Jo Stanley is ecstatic about the event and admits it’s every girl’s fantasy to be swept off her feet by a Prince. “This is a once in a lifetime spectacle with a real life Prince marrying his princess and I don’t know anyone that wouldn’t want to be a part of such a historic moment in time,” she said.
Jo’s counterpart, Matt Tilley said the last time he was promised an overseas trip with the radio show it was a Russian adventure that got cancelled at the last minute. “This is a big thing for our show and for anyone who can’t get work off to be in London, they can just listen to us chasing Elton around town for an autograph, it’ll be great,” he said.
The listeners will be heavily involved in the Royal Wedding show content, maybe even having the chance to join Matt & Jo in their adventures.
The content for the show will heavily revolve around the royal wedding itself and they will be on the lookout for fanatical Aussies that have made the long-haul flight just to see Kate and Will, wed.
Also joining Matt & Jo are number one rating counterparts at 2Day FM in Sydney, Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O, who will also be making the trip to London to cover the hype.
